I have a model for a sister...

So recently I have been doing a lot of artsy crafty type things. I have been sewing, scrapbooking, and picture taking. The big project of mine was taking my sister's senior pictures a couple days ago. We had a lot of fun and I really enjoyed taking these pictures. She is like a model. She does anything you tell her to. She'll pose just right. Can go from smile to serious face in no time. This was always the hardest thing for me to do when I took my senior pictures. Its hard enough for me to do a serious face in the first place not even on top of someone telling me to do it on command. I also always felt like I looked all dumb. I didn't know what to do with my hands. She is the opposite and that's a good thing. So I thought I would share some of my favorites that we took. It was hard to pick so few but I managed.
This is my very favorite I think.
She talked me into letting her wear he cute little dress with hot pink rain boots and at the time I was trying to talk her out of it but I really think these turned out to be some super cute and fun pictures after all. I had to put my name on here to make me feel like a pro.

Valentines

We had a wonderful Valentine's weekend. I have the best husband in the world. He bought me flowers first of all, which I had never gotten flowers before in my life so that was very special and sweet. Then on top of that he took me skiing in Ruidoso and was super patient with me because that was my first time to go skiing and I was not the best at it. I fell quite a bit actually a LOT a bit. By the end of the day or actually just by the afternoon we were both so tired and worn out we were ready to come home.

My beautiful flowers

Me and Justin after skiing

Griengo was pretty excited to go to Ruidoso with us and was bummed out he didn't get to go skiing with us.

Goodbye white...

Since the weather has been cold, snowy, and muddy here for the past couple weeks there has not been much I have wanted to do outside so that means it was time to clean the house. Well I can only clean so much before I get sick of it. So I finished painting our house. I had already painted our kitchen, office, and guest room but still desperately needed to paint the living room and our bedroom. When we moved in to this house every single wall in the house was white but not for long. I painted our living room a burnt orange color called "Burled Redwood" but it looks burnt orange to me. Our bedroom that I just got finished with, I painted like a denim blue called "Thunderhead". I'm telling you the colors because my camera doesn't take the best indoor pictures and who knows what colors they are going to look like on there. So now I only like painting our bathroom and laundry room. I was going to start on the bathroom today which is going to be a light yellow/goldish/creamy color, but maybe Thursday I will instead.
The blue really isn't that dark or purpley but that the best my camera took. Sorry

Brrr...

Brrr...we have a white blanket everywhere around here. Early Thursday morning it began an ice storm here and then it turned into a snow storm. So we have been out runnin around checking all the cattle to make sure they stayed home and keep feeding them hay. The past couple days we've been driving the tractor around because the roads are drifted and there is no way we could make it in a pickup. Thankfully we have our little green tractor to get us around to everywhere. Today we borrowed a big green tractor with a blade so we could make our own roads and be able to travel by pickup. It was really cool how much snow we could move. Justin really enjoyed that job.
I wish I would have got a picture of it actually moving the snow.
We are definitely getting tired of the cold and snow even though it is going to be really good for all our wheat. Now Gringo on the other hand...LOVES the snow! He loves to jump, run, lay, dig, stuff his face in it, eat, lick, and just about anything else you can do in the snow. He just plays and plays in it! We think he would like there to be snow 365 days of the year. Sorry Griengo, we're not moving to Anartica for you though!
Last weekend Justin went to a calf roping in Lubbock and won a little bit of money. He did really good he caught and tied all his calves.
Sorry the lighting was horrible in that barn.
Justin's friend Tyrell went and roped too. So Justin and Tyrell had their biggest fans there me, Lexi, and Griengo and Emily and Boone(Tyrell's family). Griengo was not a fan at first until he made friends with this little girl there that just loved him and from then on he just loved it. It was so cute this little girl was hugging him and giving him kisses. It was just adorable. I wish I would have got a picture. Griengo got to hang out with his BFF, Boone, which is Emily's little toy Aussie puppy. He is so tiny compared to Griengo. Griengo and Boone checking out the competition.
Sorry Lexi we didn't get a picture of all three of you.
Update on Griengo: He has now learned to hike is leg. We were so proud of him at first...but, now hikes on everything and he is not very good at it yet, he's still figuring it out. But if there is any big weed or tire close by he is definitely going to attempt to pee on it. Not too much else has been going on in our lives except I've started school back for the semester which seems like its going to be a long semester. But I just keep reminding myself only one more year...

Belated Honeymoon

Well we finally went on our honeymoon last week to Cozumel, Mexico. It was a blast! We got to miss out on the single digit weather at home and experience their cold weather which was the upper 60s and 70s. While we were there we got to eat a lot of good food. Our favorite things there was the tortillas and their cheese. We stayed in a super nice condo while we were there that over looked the ocean. Ours is the one on the right of the two middle buildings.

We rented a convertable vw bug for the first four days so we could learn where everything was and go to the other side of the island.

We were really sad when we had to return it.

We went parasailing which was very interesting since I had never been before and Justin had, but it was pretty neat and alot of fun. Sorry I didn't get any pictures of us doing that. We went on a pirate dinner cruise one night which was really cool. The mexican pirates were hilarious. The coolest thing we did there was go deep sea fishing. We caught barracudas. I caught one fish and Justin caught 3. He caught a really big one too that was like 20 lbs.

I let the pro fisher hold my fish for me.
Justin with one of his big fish!
We got to snorkel just right outside our condo since it connected to the ocean. I wish my underwater camera would have worked because it was so cool seeing really colorful fish. It was just like the fish on Finding Nemo! Justin even got to see a Seahorse, I was so jealous!

We spent one day on the most beautiful beach! I wish I would have never saw this because now all I want as a back yard is this. I love the coconut trees and the little shack/shade things!Probably my favorite picture from the whole trip!
You always hear that in Mexico or these tourist island/places that you have to watch out for people wanted to sell you time shares. Well...we had heard that but didn't think it would actually happen to us. This is one of the funniest things that happened to us while we were there. It all started when we went to a supermarket to buy some snacks and stuff one night. There was a little Mexican dude trying to tell me and Justin that we should fill out a paper and go get a free breakfast and take a tour on this hotel and be able to get to rent a Jeep for $20. All you had to do was pay ten dollars. Well this sounded pretty good to Justin (I knew it was a scam). We thought well even if we don't get a Jeep ten dollars for breakfast would be pretty good. So the next morning they come pick us up and take us to this super nice hotel. When we get there we are starving just wanting breakfast and they tell us we have to take the tour first. Well 2 hours later we take the tour after listening to a guy trying to sell us a time share. I have to admit the tour was really neat when we actually got to it. Now we are surely going to get our breakfast right?? Wrong! When we get done they tell us we're too young and you have to be at least 30 to eat breakfast there! Ugh we are so mad now! So now we're waiting for our Jeep and they tell us "Oh sorry we're out of jeeps today. You can have a bug." By this time we're like you've got to be kiddig me. Well we ended up losing our 10 bucks and left with no Jeep and no breakfast. So we're walking forever back into town all mad cuz we didn't get a free breakfast when all of a sudden we fall into something...
We had just stepped in wet concrete! It just topped off our whole morning, but it was probably the funniest thing that happened to us the whole time we were there. All we could do was laugh and laugh!
This is one of many of the gorgeous sunsets we saw while we were there.

All in all we had such a great time, but was definitely ready to come back home at the end of the week.

One down...

Christmas time is officially here! This weekend we had Christmas at Granny and PaPaw's (Justin's grandparents). It was a lot of fun we got to spend a lot of time with all the family and kids, eating a lot, and a fun round of chinese Christmas.

A cute picture of the little ones playing with new toys with Granny and Ryan trying out Shanna's new robe.
We were sad we missed getting to see our cousins and the new babies at Oklahoma at Garrett's wedding, but maybe we'll just have to make a special trip to Nashville and get to see them sometime!
We still have a few more Christmas's to go to this year, we just barely got started. Christmas eve morning we are having Christmas with Pat and Donna. Then that night we have Christmas at Grandma Kay's (Justins other grandma) and also Christmas at Erith and Charolette's (my mom's side of the family). Christmas eve is going to be very interesting especially that night to figure out how we are going to plan all that. Then Christmas morning we get to have Christmas with my dad and sister and then that night have Christmas at Bruce and Roxanne's. Whew I got to take a breath now. Needless to say we are going to be Christmased out by December 26, but we can't wait. We're excited and even ready. We have all the gifts bought and they are wrapped and under the tree! I love wrapping gifts so I pretty much get them wrapped pretty quick after they were bought...plus I forgot to get a tree skirt so I had to do something so nobody would notice hehe.
For the past two months I have been working on our guestroom getting it painted and decorated. I know it shouldn't take 2 months to do that but it was always so easy to just shut the door and walk off when I got tired since I didn't have to look at that room everyday. This is how it turned out.
I now love this room and really should have worked on some other rooms first like ours or the living room but oh well.

Hello December!

Wow it is Decembter 1st, now where did November go?? It seemed like November just flew by. We have been ssooooo busy. This is what November was like for us. We got in, processed, and turned out about a thousand head of wheat pasture cattle all while we were still baling haygrazer and going to school. So needless to say we have not had much time for anything. Justin has been super busy with the cattle and I help him every once in a while. I think we are slowing down though. We are through getting cattle in so now they just have to be checked everyday. We finally got done baling hay friday...hallelujah!
We had a great thanksgiving! We ate way to much but then again thats the way it's supposed to be. We got to have thanksgiving with all out family which is such a blessing.
Some time in between there Justin got to go to a calf roping in Amarillo. He had not roped in almost a year so it was great for him to actually get to do what he loves! He did pretty good he caught and tied every one of his calves. Sorry I videoed his runs so I do not have any actual pictures of him roping just of him there.
Last week over Thanksgiving break I went to the movies with the girls and saw The Blind Side. That was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time! I highly recommend everyone to see it. I decided that Sandra Bullock in that movie is now my new hero and I really do hope that I can be like her, she had such a role of an amazing person.
Now it is December 1st and today I got my tree put up and decorated! I am so excited! I have been waiting all year for Christmas! I love it. I was so excited to get our own tree and decorate it for our first Christmas together. Now we just have to get our Christmas card picture taken...I feel like we're behind because I am ready to send out cards now!!
Griengo and Lexi are excited for Christmas too!
Well I hope December doesn't fly by like November, but I have alot of things to do today so that is it for my blog today...
