Back to Reality

Last week we left on Father's Day to go to Breckenridge, Colorado for a few days.  It has been miserable here for the past few months.  We were sick of the 100 degree days with the 50 mph wind and watching the dirt blow.  Justin flew us to Denver which only took us 2 hours by the way, which was awesome and then rented a car and drove to Breckenridge.  We came home Wednesday night and then it was back to not just 100 degree days but 109 degree days! Ugh! Oh well the vacation was nice while it lasted.
Justin's first Father's Day!

This is the cabin we stayed at.  It was so beautiful.

We woke up Monday morning to see SNOW!  They got 4-6 inches that day.  It was just incredible.

My screaming child that looks adorable.  I had set her in her little bouncer (key word set) while I was getting ready and then when I looked over to see why she was crying she somehow had worked her way up to standing in her bouncer!  I just kinda found that impressive.  But it looks like we are getting closer to having to strap her into things now.

My sweet little owl.

Jaycee with her little bear we got her.  She pretty much wore her owl hat everyday.  I was just so excited it was cold enough there to let her wear it!

Gorgeous mountains on our way to Leadville.  Leadville isn't very far away from Breckenridge and they have an airport there but it is the highest airport in North America so we wanted to check it out in case we ever come back and want to fly in there.

I love these two!  We pretty much just hung out and relaxed the entire time we were there.  It was so nice.

Water! And green!  I doubt anyone from around here know what those are but they do exist, I have proof!  It was so nice to see everything so green and water running everywhere.  I usually hate the mountains and are ready to come home but not this time.  I was sad to come home.

Happy Birthday Jaycee!

I cannot believe that Jaycee is already 1 month old!  Yesterday was her 1 month birthday.  She partied pretty hard can't you tell.

Yesterday Jaycee got to go feed the cows and ride in the truck for the first time.  Then our day consisted of getting BBQ since it was thursday, visiting our Aunt Kalee and getting this super cute tooth pillow that her mom made Jaycee for when she starts losing teeth to put under her pillow for the tooth fairy.  Allow I really don't want to even think about her getting that old, it is the cutest thing I've ever seen.  I'll have to take a picture of it and put it up.

So for the past month Jaycee has basically just slept and ate, but as the month went on she now stays awake just a little bit longer during the afternoon and she is playing with/watching her toys that dangle.  She still loves to sit in her bouncer and she has began to not mind her swing quite so bad.  She is beginning to take her pacifier just a little better which still isn't very good.  We made the mistake of not giving it to her til she was almost 2 weeks old because we didn't want her to be one of those kids that are 3 and still sucking on a pacifier, but then we decided she needed it because she was overeating and to get rid of the hiccups.  Well now we fight it everytime we need to take the pacifier and it just takes forever so maybe we'll get better at that.  Last night I did discover that if you put socks on her hands she will suck on the pacifier much better and way longer because the little stinker can't reach up there and block her mouth or reach up and pull it out.  (She doesn't normally wear socks on her hands, just last night her little hands were cold so I put them on her)

Well we survived one month so I guess since I can't stop her from growing up I'm ready to see what the next one brings and how much she grows and changes!

This is a little old and out of order but Monday she was 4 weeks and we had to document that.

Now I know nobody really cares about anything but Jaycee, but I just had to take a picture of our beautiful no-till cotton.  This is the first cotton crop we have ever had and as of right now I think it just looks wonderful.

Up, up, and away!

The past week has been quite eventful for little miss Jaycee.  Last Sunday June 5, was Jaycee's first time to church.  This is her before we left to church.  Sorry all her pictures are in her carseat but I never remember to take a picture 'til we are about to load up in the car.

Jaycee was 3 weeks old on June 6.
I didn't want to look at that number 3 either!

Playing on her playmat last week.  She has really started to play with the toys it is so cute.  She kicks and pulls on them.

Griengo is still trying to get her to play ball.  The look on Jaycee's face is like "Man this dog just can't figure it out that I am not going to throw that ball for him and I really don't want that nasty thing beside me."

Now for the big milestone we had this past week.  On Friday night Justin took us flying for the first time.  She just slept the whole time.  She didn't mind the ride at all.

After we landed she was just hanging out.

There's a First Time for Everything

With our first child comes many firsts in her and our lives.  She has just been the best baby ever and I know that our next kid will probably be the worst!  I know she is spoiling us now.

This was waiting on Daddy to go for our first trip around the farm to see the cotton, corn, and cattle.
(5 days old)

1st outing which was to Leal's to eat for Grandpa Floyd's birthday.  (5/26/11 - 10 days old)

1st Tummy time which she is holding her head up amazingly well.  She looked like she was doing pushups for a while.  She also is already crawling!  Ok more like scooting inch by inch but it is so cute.  She gets so mad and frustrated that she can't go anywhere and she looks like she's just swimming in place.  (6/1/11 - 2 weeks, 2 days)

Here she is with Auntie Dev after our 1st doctor visit for the day which she had gained 13 ounces since she was born.  She weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces and was 21 inches long.  (6/1/11)

1st real shopping trip in Amarillo.  She was so excited to be going to Babies R Us, can't you tell.  Her foot is wrapped up from her PKU which she did so awesome at.  She did not even cry, I was closer to crying than her but yet she did cry when we had to buckle up in our carseat afterwards. (6/1/11)

1st real bath in our super cute whale bathtub!  (6/2/11 - 2 weeks 3 days)

Daddy Justin has been drilling haygrazer and he let us girls ride with him last night.

1st Tractor ride with Justin planting haygrazer.  She loved the tractor she looked around for a while and then just slept.  It won't be long before she's the one driving the tractor! (6/3/11 - 2 weeks, 4 days)

This picture isn't a first but this morning she was so cute matching her blanket and crashed out.  She's had a long week!

Meet Jaycee

I know I'm way behind on posting about our little girl on here but better late than never.  Jaycee Kay was born Monday, May 16, 2011 at 4:43 p.m.  She weighed 6 lbs, 8 1/2 oz and was 19 3/4 inches long. This is our first family picture together!

Getting ready to come home from the hospital.  I was so sad that her head was too little for her hat but oh well she still got to wear it with her big flower!  I'm so excited about getting to put bows on her all the time!
This is just one of my favorites of her newborn pictures.

She got to meet her unofficial twin for the first time a few days after we got home.  Tanner and LaDonna had a little girl named Aspyn Paige born on the exact same day in the same hospital as us.  They were right across the hall from us.

Her daddy took us out for the first time to show her the farm and the cows when she was 5 days old.  I don't think she saw very much, she slept the whole time but it was sooooo nice to get out of the house for a while!

I cannot believe that she is over a week old!  She changes and grows everyday and I'm already getting sad.  I just can't believe how fast time flies and I know she's going to be going to Kindergarten before I know it!

Now we cannot forget about big brother, Griengo.  Griengo seems to like her and not be too jealous of her actually.  He likes to lay by her cradle at night and by her during the day and he just wants so bad to smother her in kisses but we are trying to not let him.  I'm sure he's got in a few good licks without us knowing though.  I think Jaycee seems to like him too.

27 Weeks and Counting

26 weeks
So I realize that every post I begin with "I'm sorry it's been so long since I last updated my blog...", but I haven't even updated this since we got pregnant which was a long time ago.  Well for a baby update, I am currently 27 weeks and now going to the doctor every 3 weeks.  For anyone who does not know yet, it is a girl!  As of now her name is going to be Jaycee Kay.  Kay was my mom's middle name so that is where that is from, and Kay just so happens to be Justin's grandma's name and our neighbor's.  As for Jaycee it is just the first and only name that we both fell in love with or actually that we could even come close to agreeing on.
I have been extremely lucky and blessed throughout the past 27 weeks.  I have not been sick whatsoever, I really do not think I have experienced any crazy mood swings (maybe you should ask Justin just to make sure on that lol), I have not really had any cravings just once in a while Allsup burritos, and I am not seeming to be gaining much weight except my belly is finally growing.  Speaking of belly growing, I have been maternity clothes shopping a few times and Wow! maternity clothes really scare me!  I feel like they all look so huge and not very cute plus I just cannot see spending so much on clothes that I'll only wear for a few months.  So hopefully I get over this fear soon or I will be wearing the same outfit everyday.
I realized this past week that I just really hate painting now, it does wear me out like crazy.  Luckily Devanee came last week and helped me paint the nursery.  I am almost done with all the painting in the room so I will try to take pictures and post ASAP.  The baby's room is a wreck right now.  Jaycee is going to be living in our guest room so we still have to move out this gigantic bed we have in there that takes up the whole room and move a lot of furniture out.  Jaycee's crib and changing table are living in hall and kitchen at the moment so hopefully we can get a place for all our other stuff SOON!
There really isn't too much going on in our lives right now except trying to get ready for this baby.  We still have all our wheat pasture cattle but we won't be too busy with them for another couple weeks when we start shipping.  Justin finally finished his pilot's license and is an official pilot!  Since then Justin has been flying any chance he gets.  I have got to go a couple times with him and I'll have to say he is a pretty good pilot! I'm so proud of him for getting all of that finished!  I had no idea there was so much to getting your pilot's license.  It takes a lot of work.  There are so many hours you have to have with an instructor, by yourself, and on trips.  There is a hard written test that you have to score high on.  Then an official check ride test with a pilot and an oral test on top of that!  So it is amazing that Justin could get all of that done and passed with flying colors so soon!  I'm so blessed to be married to such a talented man.  I think he can drive, operate, or fly just about anything.

This is the most recent picture I have of me and Justin together.  This was at Kalee's wedding at the first of January.  I was 21 weeks then.
